BBC Radio Lincolnshire

29 June

Under threatening clouds above Louth, I met Robert Makepeace of BBC Radio Lincolnshire for a chat and update about Formula Woman. Also present was another contestant, Becca, to make the interviews wider: my 50 years plus experience and her shorter period of motorsport competition. But we both showed passion and interest in getting involved in Formula Woman.

I managed to mention my two major aims: showing that age is no bar to getting out and getting involved in new activities; and also, more importantly, as a member of the Motorsport UK's Equality, Diversity and Inclusivity Committee's LGBTQ+ sub-committee, promoting all motorsport disciplines as a very open activity which welcomes LGBT+ people.

Robert also took some photos, as did Becca, but my ignorance of things instagram and similar social media platforms meant I stood and watched - fascinated! With luck we'll both get copies so I can add to my website (and Facebook page).

Now I need to concentrate on finding a sponsor!

Keep up to date with BBC Radio Lincolnshire via the BBC website, the BBC Sounds radio player, or via their Facebook page.
